Chemical Rustproofing
DT Rustproofing has been operating at this location since 1980, we know our stuff and work at continually improving our game. All our rustproofing products meet Australian Standard AS 2662.1 and AS 2662.2 for application.
We specialize in applying heavy duty chemical rustproofing. We use various products to tailor what best suits your vehicle. For newer vehicles we can apply a clear coating. For older vehicles we mainly use black bitumen based chemicals or we can use a combination of chemicals depending on the condition of the chassis. We use various products to treat existing surface rust. If you have a preference for clear or black bitumen please discuss this with us when you drop off your vehicle. All vehicles are treated with cavity wax.
Fully cured and ready for beach driving 5 days after application.
Vehicles that have salt water damage or severe rust issues from mining or agricultural chemicals, can still be treated with our barrier spray to slow down the rust but not cure it. Once a vehicle has salt water damage it is constant work to keep it at bay. Please note those vehicles will need more regular maintenance and re-applications to keep the rust as minimal as possible. Warranty excluded.

Black Bitumen based under-body coating (aka Tar or 'Black Jack')
This is our traditional, tried and tested rustproofing product and we still use this mostly to older vehicles that can do with the benefit of controlling corrosion and cover surface rust.
Clear under-body coating
The clear coating can be applied to near-new vehicles (1-2 years or younger with no existing surface rust). Clear enhances the “showroom” appearance of the underside, it drys to a hard, non-sticky, tough-as-nails surface that will outlast all other products. Think of it like clear nail varnish. It protects, strengthens and enhances!
Cavities
Cavity Wax gets sprayed as an atomized fog down the whole chassis rail (frame), cross members, sills and bottom parts of doors. Vehicles with a unibody and subframe gets sprayed in all the openings to get all the innards coated. This product, will always be sticky and tacky and flexible and is know as self healing. It is inside box sections so the sticky and tackiness is by design. This is a thixotropic product and is non-drip. If the vehicle is older and there is some dirt, dust and flaking rust, where we can’t get it all out, we use a lanolin product that penetrates through and sets. We generally saturate these areas so there will be some dripping as this product seeps into nooks and crannies. This grade of lanolin will set and leave a long lasting sticky coating.
Spray
With the use of various types of spray systems, wands, high pressure airless and plain old pressurised pot guns, access can be gained to virtually every cavity and crevasse of your vehicle utilising existing holes - We do NOT drill holes! The 360 degree spray head ensures the entire cavity is coated with the protecting barrier spray. Door panels are sprayed to ensure coverage of the bottom seams. We don’t remove door trims (door cards) as our specialist equipment gets in the vent / weep holes. We use a range of best in class products and techniques to provide optimum protection from corrosion under Australian conditions to Australian Standard 2662.1

New cars, 10 year warranty - Lifetime Guarantee subject to annual inspection, service and top up
Older cars, 10 years from manufacture date subject to condition and initial inspection (Excludes salt water damaged vehicles)
All Warranty subject to annual inspection service with a top up.
If the vehicle has had severe rust, or is subject to lots of salty or wet environment, we will recommend more frequent servicing.
No warranty offered for salt water damaged or mining vehicles.
